Jack Knife on Dutch tv

stuckvomhimmel:

I love the Gibbs/Fornell action in this episode. They are such an old-married couple! ;)

Other good points:

McGee on caffeine: “F…U…”

Tony and Tim in a truck <3

Ziva and Damon in a truck <3

Actually, come to think of it, this was a pretty good episode.

What I don’t get is why people always say this is such a boring episode. Perhaps because of the fact that a certain female character is rather front and center at times. But it’s just something of a giggle-fest episode for me :)

Graphics Post: Tim/Tony

jufjanet:

First up, my Tony/Tim work:

Lyrics from Etta James’ “I would rather go blind” (perfect fit, just listen to it).

Photo-manip (obviously)

Colour bars. A couple of years ago, these were very popular in LJ.

And I think I already posted this, but just to be sure:

Just because it is my favourite banner of them all.

I really hope we get a little bit more McNozzo love this year. Not a lot, but a little. Please??

Watching "Sicko"

jufjanet:

And it all ties in with the latest Daily Show segments about the “War of the Classes”. If you can’t get health insurrance, it’s your own fault. Not because of some disease you have had. Not because you don’t have the money to pay for it yourself. No, it’s all your own fault. Just like being poor is your own fault.

Not because you couldn’t pay for college to get a good education.

Not because you have gotten sick or disabled and can’t work.

Not because of any other reason beyond your control.

You’re poor. You’re probably lazy. You don’t want to work. You only use your money to buy luxerous items, like a refigerator to keep your food eatable.

You want health insurrance? So you want others to pay for your own mistakes? Socialism!

I wish I was beter in English to express my thoughts more correctly. Hope I got the message across anyway.

You got the message across perfectly. Sicko got me so angry that I haven’t watching a Michael Moore film in a long time. And I’ve lost any respect for anyone who feels simply because I’m basically poor (unemployed, suffering/recovering from a mental/emotional illness) I don’t deserve to be helped back on my feet so I can return to the workforce and give back what I’ve gotten.

These types of people, those who blame me for circumstances that are not under my control, are the problem with humanity, not just the States. And I admit it, it goes against much of what I believe, but I hate them. I hate them for their being completely greedy assholes. I hate them for claiming to be Christians and going against everything that Christianity should be about. I hate them for acting like money is all that makes a person a worthy human, when it should be last on the list. I hate them because they think this is what this country is supposed to be about, when it’s the exact opposite of what the Founders desired. They wanted to end aristocracy and royal right, and these people are so blind they don’t see that’s exactly what they are attempting to re-establish.

City Clears & Sun Ascends: I can't be tamed pt 1 → hermionethrowsleaves.tumblr.com

hermionethrowsleaves:

harempriestess:

It might help the case if you (the OP) didn’t come across as if slash is personally offensive to you and therefore it’s out and out wrong. I don’t like Tiva, but it’s not personally offensive to me. And I’m sure as heck not going to judge someone solely on the fact that they seem to enjoy slash. Yes, perhaps writing Tony/Tim or Tony/Gibbs or Tim/Gibbs comes across as OOC, even AU, which kind of by definition all fanfiction borders on, but how is insulting to fictional characters? A lot of us watch the show and see things that to us comes across as “not necessarily straight” in the characters, if you will. Some of us see things differently. But passing judgment like this is pointless, and kind of rude.

It’s just stories, it’s just fun. Why get so angry about it? Also, the “moral” question? Defining slash pairings as “going against” said characters moral kind of makes it sound like it IS about the fact that some of us see them as having more fluid sexuality is immoral. As if being gay or bisexual is immoral. And personally, that offends me. Going against character, perhaps, but I, the way I interpret the characters, don’t think any of them would think being gay or bisexual, etc, would see those things as immoral. Maybe not for them, the way they are written on the show. But, to follow the logic, Tiva could offend some people because they find, based on how the character is written, that Ziva is extremely amoral, and therefore the idea of someone like Tony with her is completely wrong.

Feel free to hold opinions, even share them. But you seem to be attacking fellow fans based solely on your opinions on how things should be. We’re just writing stories, with no expectations of ever seeing it come to be on the show, and many of us with the desire that we NEVER see it on the show. There are a lot of cases to be made on either side, and your’s is no more valid than mine or other slashers.

lol.

that is why it is called an opinion. lol i can’t even. I don’t give a shit if you read them or ship it, I honestly could give a flying fuck. I personally do not like it, nor will I ever. Therefore I explained my reasoning. Therefore it is my opinion, therefore I had said: don’t like don’t read. I don’t judge people for “liking slash”. I think it’s hilarious you think I care enough to dislike and or judge someone based on something as stupid as whether they like slash.

You’re right, it’s an opinion, and no where did I say you didn’t have a right to it. I have an opinion too, and therefore I countered you’re opinion. You are judging people for liking slash because you feel it’s wrong to write characters you see as only straight by saying it’s wrong. I never said you didn’t think people shouldn’t do it, but you did kind of, in my opinion again, say that they shouldn’t because of what you think the characters are written as.

I had defined morality, and in the context of which I was stating was that morality is what makes people who they are, essentially. By their choices and preferences and everything. It was a post on how I do not like slash because it offends me when characters are written totally uncharacteristically, and they go against their personal values. It has fucking nothing to do with only the basis of sexuality. So, yes… I can find it insulting to a character when someone who is deliberately not GAY is made to be gay, without any evidence.

And see, the thing is a lot of people have seen things in the show that perhaps leads them to think they aren’t solely straight, that they may be bi. And I don’t like things where they say that, no, these characters are gay only and always have been, because I too find that very out of character. But I object to it being a moral thing because it has nothing to do with morality, it has to do with being who a person is, and defining morality as what makes a person who they are shows a misunderstanding of what morality is. Characteristic, personality, sexual identification, fine, but morality is about right and wrong, not about the underpinnings of who a person is when it comes to sex or identity. That’s why I had a problem with saying it goes against the character’s “morality”.

See the thing is with people like this, you will be offended if someone had made a completely GAY character straight, going against that character’s sexuality to be something they are not, going against their values and beliefs in themselves.

So, apparently… I can’t be offended if people turn completely STRAIGHT characters out of their values and the way they are?

That makes perfect sense.

I wouldn’t be offended if someone made a character identified as gay straight in fanfiction. I would laugh and think it’s stupid, but I wouldn’t find it personally insulting. Perhaps because I’m not gay, and therefore don’t have the basis to be offended. But if they made them bi? Different question, and I would have to take it on a case by case basis.

There are characters I would have a problem seeing as bisexual, based on what I’ve seen on screen or wherever, but I still don’t get why that would be personally insulting. These aren’t your characters, and I don’t understand why one would find something that has nothing to do with them and who they are as personally offensive.

Don’t even fucking get me started on your righteousness about it being immoral; Oh, I’m INSULTING this or that. How fucking dare you. Trying to state that is what I was saying, which was not by any means, that I was saying being gay or bisexual is immoral.

See my above explanation as to why I object to the idea of it being about the characters’ personal morality.

Go back to writing your stories and don’t waste your time on my personal opinion. I could give two fucks, yours won’t change and mine won’t change.

Where was I trying to change anyone’s opinion? I was sharing mine in the same way you were sharing yours. You put it out there, and I responded. If you didn’t want anyone to disagree, why did you feel the necessity to put it out and saying you don’t care if people disagree? That I find offensive, because it’s basically saying as if my opinion and other’s opinions, if they differ, are less valid than yours.

I find it absolutely ridiculous. It’s for fun I understand.

Some people pick their nose for fun.

Don’t waste your time even commenting back because I honestly don’t care.

It’s not a waste of my time. And please resist the urge to tell me what I should do. And if you honestly don’t care, than why bother to respond in the first place.

Thanks, I hope you write a fantastic fic, if you do… maybe I’ll read it and it’ll be able to be in character still.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t want you to read what I write. You are stuck in a mindset that says that what I write is wrong, for it goes against what you believe are the characters’ “moral” sense. But, if you ever find what I write, go for it. It’s out there. And I’m not going to tell anyone not to read it if they don’t like it. I enjoy discussions. Even when people are rude and apparently upset by the idea that I might enjoy the idea of Tim/Tony or Gibbs/Tim or Tony/Gibbs. What harm does it do to you if I enjoy it? Your opinion does no harm to me.

Don’t accuse someone of being self-righteous when you are doing the same exact thing. Don’t be scared of other people’s opinions, and don’t think simply because they disagree they’re attacking it. Because I’m not, but you sure are coming across as attacking mine.

Well, I respect you if you don’t like slash pairings, to each his own. But I don’t agree with you on one…

No, I know that you’re not being homophobic or being stereotypical, I did not mean to accuse you of that. But just because someone enjoys flirting with women, doesn’t make them straight to me. Just means that they like flirting and being with women, but not that they are only attracted towards women for the rest of their lives.

Yep, but this whole post was in relation to NCIS. I agree with above, but it is Tony, Gibbs, Timmy… I don’t like it, I find it insulting to them because there is no case. For a case… you need evidence. There has been no evidence for me to even consume such ideas. The only evidence for McGee? Tony harassing him about lotion. Not a lot of basis.

You like what you like.

I, myself, cannot stand it.

The whole gay thing really wasn’t my MAIN point. It’s that when characters, who have set ways, are changed without cause and reason, usually without a SHARD of support, even if you dive deep into their character, and it’s pretty damn uncharacteristic to have Gibbs kissing Tony on the forehead in a romantic embrace.

I would say that for Ziva and Vance. How fucking ridiculous is Ziva and Vance? There would be no base for that pairing. They’re straight. They would have nothing in common to make that fit. They would never be together because it is so against what they like and their general morals. The gay pairing isn’t the deal here, it’s the fact that if the characters were together that are NOT together, nor would ever be due to, again that personality definition I gave you, it becomes completely uncharacteristic.

It isn’t what the character would do, therefore, going against said character’s morals.

I do not like uncharacteristic qualities without basis. So far, there is no evidence to assume these HUGE moral changing and personality changing things. In fact, the prosecution file for this case would be enough to fill 6 file cabinets.

Case clossssssssed, forever cold case.

:nods: It is difficult to find good stories about it, that don’t complete change their behaviour. For some reasons, some people seem to think that the only way it is plausible if one of them becomes, for lack of a better term, a girl. And I hate those fics. And I do find them insulting, because they give out the message that within a same sex couple, there is still a female and a male personality.

There are a couple of writers who do write them the way I can see it happening, like Cat from LJ. She writes a very good Tony. But yeah, if it’s not your genre… I myself don’t like reading Tiva, so I’m not going to ask you to read something you don’t like, if I’m not willing to do the same.

It might help the case if you (the OP) didn’t come across as if slash is personally offensive to you and therefore it’s out and out wrong. I don’t like Tiva, but it’s not personally offensive to me. “Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.” — Lawrence M. Krauss (via wilwheaton)
